Dar es Salaam. The Civic United Front (CUF) has condemned the Police Force in Urambo District, Tabora Region, for allegedly shooting dead one person, injuring two and arresting several innocent wananchi including the party’s Special Seats MP Magdalena Sakaya and other officials.

The party also condemned the police for acting against principles of good governance and human rights by refusing to set free CUF’s officials on bail.Speaking to reporters in Dar es Salaam yesterday, CUF’s deputy secretary general (Mainland), Mr Julius Mtatiro, said it was obvious there was a hidden agenda in the arrest of party officials. However, efforts by The Citizen to contact top officers from the Police Force were fruitless yesterday.
